Personal Development

Personal Development at Wrotham Road Primary School

At Wrotham Road Primary School, personal development is at the heart of everything we do. Children are supported to grow into confident, curious, and caring individuals through a wide range of experiences that develop skills, character, and creativity.

Pupil Leadership

School Council

The School Council gives pupils a real voice in school life. Children from Year 1 to Year 6 can stand for election, sharing why they would make a good representative. Each class votes for one boy and one girl to join the council for the year.

School councillors:

  • Gather ideas and feedback from classmates
  • Discuss improvements and key issues with staff
  • Lead charity fundraising and community projects
  • Represent the views of all pupils

Through this role, children learn about democracy, responsibility, teamwork, and leadership in a meaningful way.

Eco Council

Our Eco Council allows pupils to take the lead in protecting the environment and promoting sustainability across the school. Members plan projects, raise awareness, and encourage eco-friendly practices across the school community.

Reading Ambassadors

Reading Ambassadors promote a love of reading across the school. They read to younger pupils, recommend books, and inspire others to explore new stories and authors.

Growing the Whole Child

Through leadership roles, enrichment opportunities, community involvement, clubs, reading initiatives, and well-being programs, pupils at Wrotham Road develop the confidence, skills, and character they need to succeed. We celebrate every child’s achievement, encourage them to try new things, discover their talents, and become thoughtful, caring members of the community.
