Appeals
All parents have the statutory right to appeal against any decision refusing them a school place if the school criteria for admissions has not been followed correctly. Appeals must be lodged by Tuesday 19 May 2026 for it to be considered as on time.
Where parents have lodged an appeal against the refusal of a place and a place becomes available at the school, the place can then be offered without an appeal being heard, provided there are no other applicants at that time ranked higher on the school’s waiting list, which is held in accordance with the school’s oversubscription criteria.
Appeals are not to be heard prior to the Kent Reallocation Day on Thursday 21 May 2026.
Late Applications
The closing date for applications in the normal admissions round (as above) is Thursday 15 January 2026. As far as reasonably practicable, applications for places in the normal admissions round that are received late for a good reason will be accepted and considered in the same way as ‘on time’ applications, provided they are received by Kent County Council by Thursday 12 February 2026. On time applicants can also request to amend their application up to this point for a good reason, but these requests must be made in writing to the admissions team as amendments made to the online system after Thursday 15 January 2026 will be ignored.
For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 school days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.
Once a sibling link has been broken, sibling priority will be permanently lost for that child regardless of any further address moves a family may make in the future.
