As some of you may be aware, due to the committee members dwindling numbers and lack of time available, the Friends Association have been unable to hold any events for the past year and as they cannot see this situation changing, it is with regret following a meeting held last month that they have decided to close Wrotham Road Primary School Friends Association. They would however like to say thank you to the members of staff and parents who helped at the many and various events and activities which the Friends (and the PTA) ran over the years. It would have been impossible without you.
We, as a school, would also like to say a huge thank you for all the years, all the Friends have put in. They have dedicated so much time raising money for the benefit of the children at Wrotham Road Primary School, for which we are eternally grateful.
Should any interested parents be willing to form a new committee, we would be happy to hear from them.
The Friends of Wrotham Road Primary School have been running events, raising money and buying all sorts of things for the school over many, many years (originally as the PTA, and latterly as the ‘Friends’). During the last school year, they ran discos, film nights, a Christmas fair and a pantomime. The money they have raised has paid, in the last year alone, for the new school wall decoration in the middle playground, and for visiting authors and educational visitors for the children. It has paid for the water in the canteen, and for the crackers and gifts at Christmas!
